Adult Hodgkins Lymphoma Treatment NCI
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/adulthodgkins/healthp ...More than 75% of all newly diagnosed patients with adult Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) can be cured with combination chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. National mortality has fallen more rapidly for adult HL than for any other malignancy. Prognosis for a given patient depends on several factors. The most important factors are the presence or absence of systemic symptoms, the stage of disease, presence of large masses, and the quality and suitability of the treatment administered. Other important factors are age (therapy for very young children requires special attention), sex, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, extent of abdominal involvement, hematocrit, and absolute number of nodal sites of involvement
Adult Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/adult-non-hodgkins/he ...The NHLs are a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative malignancies with differing patterns of behavior and responses to treatment.[2] Like Hodgkin’s lymphoma, NHL usually originates in lymphoid tissues and can spread to other organs. NHL, however, is much less predictable than Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has a far greater predilection to disseminate to extranodal sites. The prognosis depends on the histologic type, stage, and treatment.
