Ball-Thrower's Fracture of the Humerus
These radiographs reveal a mildly displaced, comminuted spiral fracture at the distal diaphysis of the left humerus with an associated butterfly fragment. The patient, a healthy recreational athlete with no prior arm pains, described making an off-balanced but forceful throw that was accompanied by a loud snapping noise.

Abstract
Following a motorcycle accident, a 29-year-old man had fixation of a femoral fracture with an intramedullary rod. After he was discharged, the wound deteriorated rapidly and did not improve despite multiple debridements and antibiotic therapy. Apophysomyces elegans grew on cultures, and treatment with amphotericin B was followed by healing and plastic reconstruction.

2 Cases Report. J Korean Fracture Soc. 2000 Oct;13(4):978-98 Spiral fractures of the middle or distal shaft of the humerus that occur during attempts to throw a variety of objects are not common. Many authors have reported that the cause of fracture was the results of uncoordinated muscle violence. We experienced two cases of throwing fractures of humerus, one is baseball player(catcher) preceded by arm pain during throwing motion, the other is recreational hand grenade player without prodromal arm pain.
